 Matapédia\, pôle artistique et communautaire\, invite la population à v
 enir découvrir une partie du folklore local jeudi le 23 mars prochain de 
 17h à 19h.\n\nL'exposition Bibitte D’Amours documente le rituel à but 
 caritatif de l’artiste autodidacte Pierre D’Amours - gui de de pêche\
 , trappeur\, et conteur - qui installe avec sa famille à chaque printemps
  une étrange bibitte sur les glaces de la rivière Matapédia. L’artist
 e en résidence\, naakita feldman-kiss\, s’est saisi de sa caméra pour 
 nous emporter dans l'univers de la création de cette géante sculpture é
 phémère\, constituée de troncs d'arbre et de branches\, qui fait partie
  des traditions Matapédiennes depuis maintenant 7 ans. Signe avant-coureu
 r du printemps\, l’arrivée de la Bibitte dans le paysage marque entre-a
 utres pour les habitants le début des mises visant le jour du départ de 
 celle-ci vers la mer. Les profits associés à ces gages sont remis au cen
 tre de ski local à but non-lucratif\, Le Petit Chamonix.\n\nEvènement gr

 Amours exhibition documents the benevolent ritual of self-taught artist Pi
 erre D'Amours - fishing guide\, trapper\, andstoryteller - who installsa s
 trange bibitte on the ice of the Matapedia River with his family every spr
 ing. The artist in residency\, naakita feldman-kiss\, took its camera to t
 ake us into the universe of the creationof this giant ephemeral sculpture\
 , made of tree trunks and branches\, which has been part of Matapedia trad
 itions for 7 years now. As a signof spring\, the arrival of the Bibitte in
  the landscape marks the beginning of the bets for the day of its departur
 e to the sea. Proceeds fromthese wagers are donated to the local non-profi
